Bianca Balti was born on March 19 1984, in the beautiful city of Lodi in the north of Italy.
Daughter of Maria Bice and Bruno, sister of Alessandro and Carlo Alberto, she spent a happy childhood between her hometown and her grandparents’s house in the Alps town of La Thuile where she enjoyed the holidays with her cousins. Her home in Lodi was built on the second floorof her father's business, a distribution of magazines, where she grew up reading all the fashion magazines and dreaming to become a model.
Once finished the “liceo classico” Pietro Verri, she passed the admission test to attend graphic design at the Politecnico University in Milan. In the big city she squatted a house with some friends and started to saw clothes with her mother’s sawing machine to make some extra money. That became her passion until scouted by Bruno Pauletta, a model agent and founder of Brave Models in Milan.
Weeks later she shot her first cover for l’Officiel Paris with Alexi Lubrominski, catalogues for Valentino and Dolce&Gabbana and only a couple of months later signed an exclusivity contract with Dolce&Gabbana for their fashion show and AD campaign shot by Steven Meisel.
The raise of her career happened very quickly with Bianca shooting with Steven Klein, Annie Liebovitz, Micheal Johanson, Mario Sorrenti, Michelangelo di Battista, Mert and Marcus, to mention just a few of great photographers she had the chance to work with. In 2005 she had the honor to walk the Victoria Secret fashion show with fashion legends as Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Campbell, Adriana Lima.
In June of 2007 she became mother for the first time with Matilde, but motherhood did not stop her career. As a working mom she kept achieving some great professional goals: in 2011 she signed a contract with l’Oreal Paris as a brand ambassador, a dream of hers since childhood, and in 2013 she got the chance to work with the great Mario Testino as the face of Light Blue, the most successful Dolce&Gabbana perfume, that she wore since she was a teenager.
In 2015 Bianca became mother the second time with Mia, working very hard in the following year to get her shape back. But she made it and she finally appeared on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, winning the title of Rookie of the year 2017 at the age of 33.
She’s now opening an exciting new chapter of her life, designing her first swimwear line sold in exclusivity for YOOX. Creativity has always been an important part of Bianca’s personality since, as a teenager she was making clothes to sell at the local markets.
She takes pride above all in being a mother to her two daughters and plans on having an even bigger family with her husband Matthew McRae in Orange County, California, where she lives.
